UGC NET JRF 2023 Eligibility: National Testing Agency (NTA) has been entrusted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) with the task of conducting UGC-NET, which is a Test to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for ‘Assistant Professor’ as well as ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ in Indian Universities and Colleges.
The UGC-NET is being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode w.e.f. December 2018 onwards.
Awarding of UGC net (JRF) and/ or Eligibility for Assistant Professorship depends on the aggregate performance of the candidate in Paper-I and Paper-II of UGC-NET. The candidates qualifying only for Assistant Professorship are not eligible to be considered for the award of JRF. Candidates who qualify for the eligibility test for Assistant Professorship are governed by the rules and regulations of the concerned Universities/Colleges/State Governments, as the case may be for the recruitment of Assistant Professors.

According to the UGC NET 2022 December Eligibility Criteria, a candidate needs a minimum of 55% marks (without rounding off) in a Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognized by UGC.
As per the latest UGC NET Latest notification, Ph. D. is not mandatory for the direct recruitment of assistant professors in universities or colleges. UGC NET is still the minimum eligibility criteria for an assistant professorship.
What is the age limit for UGC NET JRF 2023?
The age limit for Junior Research Fellowship in UGC NET is 30 years as per the revised age limit by National Testing Agency. However, a relaxation of up to 5 years is provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories, such as SC/ST/OBC-NCL, PwD, and women applicants.

1. The applicant will receive two marks for each accurate response in Papers 1 and 2.
2. The UGC NET JRF 2023 exam does not penalize candidates for providing erroneous answers.
3. Unanswered or questions marked for review will not receive any points.
4. You must answer every question.
5. The applicant who attempted the question and selected one of the correct answers would be given credit if a question was deemed to be unclear or erroneous during the key challenge. There will be no dropped questions, and all candidates will receive full credit.
